What is a Money Can’t Buy experience?
A ‘Money Can’t Buy experience’ is the opportunity for an All Star and an accompanying adult to receive an exclusive experience linked to professional cricket. The exclusive element is most commonly linked to the opportunity to play on the outfield of a major cricket venue, but can also be a chance to meet players or take part in a guard of honour (dependent upon the type of event). Parents can register to be shortlisted for an opportunity after signing up their child, and if selected will be contacted directly with details.
If government restrictions result in no or limited attendance at England and County games and events we will be reviewing the offer of Money-Can’t-Experiences.
How do I register my interest?
The confirmation e-mail you receive after signing up your child contains a link to register your interest for a Money Can’t Buy experience. In addition to this, there is a link in the activity book that your child receives as part of their All Stars kit pack. There is also a link from the parent communications that you must opt in for, at the point of sign up.
How do I find out if my All Star has been successful?
The successful candidates are all contacted directly from All Stars Cricket via an invitation e-mail (sent to whichever email address you supplied us with).
How do I confirm attendance if my All Star gets selected?
The invitation e-mail will have instructions on how to confirm acceptance of the Money Can’t By experience. Once the acceptance form is filled out, this confirms to us that you will be taking the place we offered. You would then hear back from us nearer to the time with a further details email.
Failure to do so will result in not having a ticket allocation and turning up on the allocated day may result in not being able to enter the venue.
If we can’t attend the Money Can’t Buy experience we’re selected for, can we exchange it for another one?
If you cannot attend the Money Can’t Buy experience that you’ve been selected for your name will be returned to the list for random selection. There is no guarantee that you will receive another opportunity.
My school won’t let my All Star miss school for the day, can we exchange it for another day?
In our experience, many teachers and headteachers are highly supportive of the extra-curricular benefits of a Money Can’t Buy experience when told that their pupil has the opportunity. However, in some instances the school is not willing to authorise the absence. If this is the case, your name will be returned to the list for random selection. There is no guarantee that you will receive another opportunity.
If my All Star is selected, who can go?
Every Money Can’t Buy experience invitation is for one All Star and one accompanying adult. Where a selected All Star has siblings within the programme, that sibling can also attend with an additional accompanying adult. This information will be requested at the point of confirming your attendance.
I have more than one child who is an All Star, can they all come?
See answer above!
Who do I speak to on the day if I have any questions?
Prior to each Money Can’t Buy experience, selected and confirmed parents receive an e-mail with contact details for the person in charge on the day (in addition to where/when to meet, etc). All questions on the day should be communicated to this person.
How do I collect the tickets?
Prior to each Money Can’t Buy experience, you’ll receive an e-mail confirming the collection point for tickets on the day. No tickets will be distributed via post or as e-tickets.
Do I have to pay for my ticket?
Successful applicants for Money Can’t Buy experiences receive one FREE ticket for the All Star and one FREE ticket for the accompanying adult (please see above for exceptions).
Can I buy additional tickets for other family members to come along?
All Stars cricket do not distribute additional tickets for family or friends to purchase. Match tickets are sold via the host county and may be available online, via phone or from their ticket office.
Can I park at the ground?
All Stars cricket is not responsible for organising parking. It is rare that on-site parking can be secured at match venues on match days. Prior to each Money Can’t Buy experience, you’ll receive an e-mail with links to recommended transport routes to the ground on match day. If the ground does offer parking, participants will have to contact the venue themselves.
Are my transport costs covered?
All Stars Cricket does not cover the cost of transport to and from the venue for a Money Can’t Buy experience
What does my All Star need to wear?
All Stars must wear their blue All Stars Cricket t-shirts. Failure to do so will result in not being able to take part in on pitch activities. All Stars Cricket does not provide spare shirts on the day.
In addition to the above, comfortable sports clothing and trainers should be worn.
Does my All Star need to bring any equipment?
Participants do not need to bring any equipment to take part in the on-pitch activities. This is all provided by the All Stars team. See above for ‘what does my All Star need to wear?’
What activities will my All Stars be involved with on a match day?
Every child will have the opportunity to take part in an All Stars Activity session on the outfield (weather dependent, otherwise we will seek to do this in another area). The activities are those which your All Star will be doing on a weekly basis at their local centre.
Depending on the venue/type of event, some lucky participants will be selected for the guard of honour when the players enter the pitch.
What activities will my All Stars be involved in on a 'press conference' day?
Every attending child will be involved in an ‘All Stars Press Conference.’ This consists of children asking (usually) three England players some of the most challenging questions they can think of such as... ‘who is your favourite Disney character?’ and ‘if you were an animal, what would you be and why?’ Not every child will get the chance to ask a question.
All Stars will get the opportunity to secure an autograph from the England players in the press conference on a single item. We are grateful to the time the England players commit to us and All Stars and their parents should not take advantage by bringing additional items to be signed or seeking additional photographs.
Is my All Star guaranteed to get the on-pitch experience?
We do everything within our power to deliver the on-pitch activities. However, the decision is made by the ground staff. Due to inclement weather and/or variations in the schedule of the day, the pitch activities may be shortened or cancelled. In the case of this happening, we would look to run the activity indoors but this is dependent upon suitable space being available.
Are the adults required to do anything on the day?
Accompanying adults are fully responsible for their All Star for the full time that the All Star is not on the pitch.
Are the adults allowed to go on the pitch with the All Stars?
Parents cannot gain access to the pitch unfortunately.
Will the All Stars get to meet players on the day?
On match days, All Stars will not have the opportunity to meet players. Players professional responsibilities must be respected, and laws surrounding interaction with the general public prohibit access.
How long do the All Stars have to stay?
All Stars and their accompanying adults can leave at any stage of the day. On test match days the on-pitch activity takes place after the morning session of play (2 hours of play), and on one day match days the on pitch activity takes place between the change of innings (approximately after 3.5 hours of play).
Do the All Stars get their lunch provided?
All Stars are not provided with lunch. Almost all match venues have catering outlets to purchase food and participants can bring packed lunches.
